Azores Dog Rescue is a registered non-profit organization on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores. I began rescuing dogs in 2016, shortly after moving here from the UK, after witnessing the heartbreaking neglect and abuse of dogs, especially the Portuguese Podengos - the local hunting dogs. Currently we are full to capacity with 54 dogs and pups at the shelter – most of these were abandoned and arrived fearful and traumatised. A Dogs Life is an animal shelter and rescue sevice in the Eastern Algarve dedicated to saving lives and re-homing abandoned and abused animals. We also give a loving retirement home for those dogs unable to be rehomed. As we have ever increasing vets bills and are currently trying to improve and create more spacious areas for the dogs we would realy appreciate your donation.
